5 Do's and Don'ts of Fat Loss
You know, fat loss can feel like such a mystery sometimes.
It’s like everyone has their own “secret” to success, and half the time, they contradict each other!
I've been there, trying every new tip and trick, only to end up frustrated and stuck.
So, after years of trial, error, and a lot of learning, I’ve found that some simple do’s and don’ts can make a world of difference.
Let’s break it down in a way that actually feels doable—and that won’t leave you feeling exhausted or deprived.
1. Don’t Rely on Quick Fixes
We’ve all been tempted by the “lose 10 pounds in 10 days” promises, right?
The thing is, they don’t last and usually lead to burnout or disappointment.
Quick fixes don’t support lasting change.
Do Focus on Sustainable Habits
Start small.
Build habits that you can see yourself maintaining next month, next year, and beyond.
This might look like adding an extra serving of veggies, drinking more water, or prioritizing good sleep.
Trust me, these simple shifts build real, lasting results.
2. Don’t Obsess Over the Scale
It’s easy to let a number dictate your progress, but weight fluctuates for so many reasons (and it doesn’t define your success).
Do Pay Attention to How You Feel
Notice improvements in energy, strength, and even mood.
These wins mean more than any number on the scale because they’re signs you’re moving in the right direction.
3. Don’t Cut Out Foods You Love
Restrictive diets often backfire and create an unhealthy relationship with food.
Do Find a Balanced Approach
You can enjoy your favorite treats without guilt.
When you focus on balance, it’s easier to stay consistent—and consistency is where results come from.
4. Don’t Punish Yourself with Exercise
Exercise shouldn’t feel like a chore or a form of punishment.
When it does, it’s nearly impossible to keep up with.
Do Choose Activities You Enjoy
Find movement that you actually look forward to!
Whether it’s dancing, hiking, lifting, or yoga, the goal is to enjoy being active because you’re more likely to keep at it.
5. Don’t Expect Perfection
Life happens, and sometimes things don’t go as planned.
That’s okay!
Do Focus on Progress Over Perfection
When you celebrate the small wins along the way, you’re building momentum.
It’s not about being perfect—it’s about creating a lifestyle that supports you.
Remember, you don’t need to overhaul your entire life to see progress.
It’s the consistent, manageable changes that really add up.
So, if fat loss has been feeling like a constant struggle, take a deep breath, and start small.
Embrace the journey—one step at a time.
Much love,
Coach Anthony
