How To Escape Prison
(How to Lose Weight Without Feeling Like You’re on a Diet)
“I thought following the perfect plan would give me more FREEDOM but all I ever do is think about what I can’t eat and feel guilty when I mess it up.”
Does that sound familiar?
I hear this a lot from so many women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who are trying to finally get consistent with their weight loss.
They want results so badly and most of the time they do follow through with whatever plan they have set out,
They will cut entire food groups, track every bite, and most of the time the scale does drop.
The problem is, they have WAY less freedom than when they weren’t on a plan at all.
They’re always stuck, obsessing over what they ate, when they’ll eat next, and how fast they can “get back on track.”
Sure, they love seeing progress on the scale…
But at the same time, they always feel mentally consumed by food, dieting, and what the next best diet for them to get faster results in going to be.
To the point where they aren’t as present as they want to be with their spouse, kids, or even enjoying a dinner out with friends.
Sometimes they even skip fun nights, vacations, or meals they’d love because they’re terrified it will ruin their progress.
The obsession creeps into every area of life and steals the freedom they thought they’d gain by losing weight.
The truth is, weight loss doesn’t stick when it feels like a prison.
Instead of constantly being “on the plan” or “off the plan,” what works is building habits that fit into your real life:
Choose meals you actually enjoy instead of forcing yourself to eat perfectly.
Focus on routines you can repeat even on your busiest days.
Track progress in ways beyond just the scale (like energy, sleep, and consistency).
This is how you create results that last.
WITHOUT more guilt.
WITHOUT more binges late at night.
And WITHOUT starting over every other week.
So the next time you catch yourself thinking,
“I’m fell off again, I guess I’ll just start again Monday”
Pause…
And instead, ask yourself,
What’s one small thing I can do today that still moves me forward?
That simple shift breaks the cycle and it’s exactly how my clients are finally able to lose the weight and actually keep it off.
Much love,
