Natalie Portman’s Advice to Anyone Tired of Yo-Yo Diets
In the movie Closer starring Natalie Portman and Clive Owen there is a very specific scene
This specific scene takes place in this super-fancy art gallery where people spend more time sizing each other up than admiring the art.
Natalie is standing there, cigarette in hand (don't smoke, seriously, it's bad for you, but wow, she looks iconic), admiring a giant photo of herself.
Clive Owen approaches her, nodding at the portrait, and asks, "Like it?"
Her response?
One of the most brutally honest takedowns of pretension I've ever seen in a movie.
Seriously, it's worth watching for that alone.
She ends her monologue with this mic drop:
"And everyone loves a big fat lie."
Hard to argue with that.
Especially when it comes to dieting and weight loss.

🛑 "No pain, no gain" (Lie)
