What to Do When It Feels Like Your Best Years Are Behind You
(Sustainable Weight Loss after 40)
There’s a common theme that’s come up this week in my Dm’s…
“What am I missing?”
And even more often...
“Will this time actually be different?”
If you’ve asked that too — especially while watching the scale stay stuck or feeling like your body just doesn’t respond the way it used to — you’re not alone.
And I want to tell you something important:
Sometimes, the thing you think is missing is actually the reason you’re still stuck.
Let’s check two things first:
Have you been consistent? Be honest — are you grazing through the day, skipping meals, or letting “just this once” moments pile up?
Have you been consistent long enough? Real change takes time. Some bodies don’t respond overnight. And that doesn’t mean you’re broken.
But here’s what usually happens when you feel stuck:
👀 You start searching for the “magic fix.”
A new cleanse. A crash diet. A 30-day challenge that expects perfection.
You think this one will finally get you there.
And what follows?
More burnout. More disappointment. More proof (in your mind) that it’s too late.
But what if you’ve just been following the wrong plan?
Not a bad one.
Just one that doesn’t fit YOU, your stage of life, or the way your body works now.
This is where things can finally shift.
Because when I work with women in their 40s and 50s, we don’t overhaul everything.

We build one habit at a time.

You can’t cut carbs forever.
