Why consistency beats motivation every time
Habit of The Week #7: How to Finally Stay Consistent and Lose Fat for Good
Yesterday, we talked about how motivation isn’t the key to fat loss — consistency is.
Today, I want to show you why that’s true.
Because once you understand the science behind consistency, everything about fat loss starts to make sense.
Let’s start with this:
Fat loss isn’t magic. It’s not about eating less or exercising more.
It’s about staying consistent long enough for your body to trust you again.
Every time you jump from one plan to another, your body gets confused.
One week you’re under-eating and overworking.
The next, you’re exhausted and overcompensating.
That stop & start cycle is why you feel stuck.
When you stay consistent, even at 80%, your body finally gets what it needs — predictability.
Your hormones balance.
Your hunger cues regulate.
Your energy stabilizes.
And your body starts releasing fat the way it’s supposed to.
They reason why you haven’t been able to lose weight lately isn’t because your metabolism is broken.
It’s just been constantly disrupted by inconsistency.
But the good news is, your body responds to averages over time, not perfection in a single day.
That means if you’re consistent MOST of the time, your body will respond every time.
Small, repeatable actions beat extreme efforts every single time.
Think of it like compound interest.
Each time you keep a small promise to yourself (a balanced meal, a short walk, a night of good sleep) you’re making a deposit into your results.
At first, you might not see much change.
But those deposits add up.
And one day, you realize everything feels different.
Your clothes fit better, your energy is higher, and you finally feel in control.
That’s the power of consistency.
And this is exactly what I help women master when i work with them 1 on 1 — building a structure that keeps their body responding without obsession or burnout.
You don’t have to be perfect in order to see the scale come down.
You just have to be predictable.
Because when your actions become consistent, your results become inevitable.
Tomorrow, I’m going to walk you through why you might be struggling to stay consistent and how to break free from the all-or-nothing cycle that’s been holding you back for years.
But for now, I want you to do one small thing:
Pick one “deposit” you can make today — something simple and doable.
Take a 10-minute walk after dinner.
Add protein to your lunch.
Drink a full glass of water between meals.
One small, consistent action done today is better than the “perfect plan” you’re thinking of starting on Monday.
Much love,
Coach Anthony
